Russell A. Young is a dedicated public servant, elected council member, and lifelong community advocate serving the Town of Dumfries, Virginia. With more than two decades of experience in housing inspection, human services, and municipal leadership — including his current role as Housing Inspection Supervisor for Arlington County's Housing Assistance Bureau — Russell brings a rare blend of hands-on public-service expertise and legislative oversight to the Dumfries Town Council.
His career, rooted in ensuring safe and affordable housing, protecting vulnerable residents, and building bridges between tenants, landlords, and government, reflects a deep, unwavering commitment to fairness, accountability, and the well-being of every neighbor. From chairing selection committees and developing policy during the COVID-19 pandemic to mentoring young people through the Greater Washington Boys and Girls Club, Russell has spent his life in service to others.
